When does playing the dozens go to far?

Everyone at some point has probably played the game refereed to as 'playing the dozens' also know as trash talking. This is game where you are saying mean things back and forth with a person until someone says something that is the most hurtful and the game is over. I have personally never seen this game end in a pleasant way and most of the people involved walk away with hurt feelings and many end up never talking to each other again. So I pose the question have you ever played this game and it end up well or if you haven't do you think it's possible for it to end in such a way where no one walks away hurt?

Is there any good entertainment left?

My mom taught me when I was a little girl that lyrics are a very important part of music. Music should not just make you feel good but it should be saying something worth listening to as well. Today the majority of music played on the radio and t.v. is full of sex and cursing , the old saying 'sex sells' is the entertainment industry's reasoning behind using it so heavily as if sex is the only thing that sells. As far as cursing goes that is used so much because it use to be at least, shocking but once someone is cursing every other word the shock value completely disappears.

Is it too much to ask for a little originality?

The majority of the songs I hear on the radio I know have been sampled or later on find out have been sampled. Rappers have a lot of the same sayings that the pioneers of rap use to say instead of making up their own. Outside of the realm of music, some of the fashion from decades past are now back in fashion. Things like this really make the old saying 'there is nothing new under the sun' true.

Has face to face conversations or conversations over the phone been replaced by texting, facebook, twitter, ect?

I use to love to call my friends but more recently I feel more comfortable with texting them or sending them a message on facebook. This has happened to many others as well and I wonder why because it is a lot easier to just simply have a conversation with someone on the phone or in person than having to write out everything you want to say to them. Also talking to someone prevents a lot of misunderstandings which often come out of texts or messages.

Is age really just a number?

When I see a fifteen year old with a nineteen year old I think to myself what could they have in common? Normally a teen at the age of fifteen should be in the tenth grade and someone who is nineteen should be out of high school and in college or have a job. Also someone who is nineteen should be way more mature than your average fifteen year old. This of course means that the nineteen year old will have a huge influence on that fifteen year's old's decisions and if they so choose take advantage of that fifteen year old. Basically a fifteen and a nineteen year old are not on the same playing field which means it wouldn't make sense for them to date.
